Well, BLogger went and pulled the plug on FTP, so now I am forced to move my site over to a Wordpress blog.

The move is going somewhat painlessly, however I will need to learn the Wordpress theme interface thingy. After it is perfected, this will no longer be a Blogger blog.

My other blogs will probably get smished into one blog to rule all blogs or something...

The first Kirby game was on the Gameboy, before it was on the NES. This little puff started out with nothing. Just itself and some occasional apples. Now it can steal powers, fly and a few other things.

Let's Play - Robopon Sun 01

I'm doing a Let's Play of a game that was my favorite. Namely because it was a "monster collection" game with male human-looking "monsters" that I could collect. Only Shin Megami Tensei can rival it, however the SNES versions are a bit lackluster, the PS2 Nocturne is hard to find and SMT:Imagine is..well.. you can only have one out at a time xD (However I am collecting them).

Anyways, you collect robots in this game, which is pretty much a clone of Pokemon only with robots and magnets nor pokemon and monster balls.

PS0 - Where's MY sexy robot?

Well I snagged a download of the PS0 ROM floating about more or less to confirm my suspicions. Yup, no sexy Casts... NONE... Thank you SEGA for once again forgetting women play games too.

I had to wait till PSU to get a sexy male robot that looks human and PS0 just takes us one step back with the female robots looking human, but none of the male one >:|

I dragged and dropped that piece of crap into the Fire Pit. I'll stick with PSU thanks... I don't care if others think it's bad.

If anyone was wondering where I have been lately. I'm been participating in the NaNoWriMo, and thus haven't been playing many games lately. I've also been moving and having little time to do very much.

I got rid of the Kotaku link as really Kotaku is about "lol bewbs" and "lol gay" which is too far below my level to really care any more. Once they stop being a porn site that caters to 12 year olds I'll start caring. Instead I replace it with a link that is more mature and relevant to my interests.

Magic the Re-Gathering

I went with some friends yesterday and was reintroduced to Magic: The Gathering. I had set the game down back around the time of the Ice Age expansion and didn't look back. Pausing only briefly to pick up the Pokemon Card game, which is a pretty awesome game into itself.

It was a draft play, so I was at the same advantage as other people. I still lost though. Guy had some kind of nasty green deck.

Things that I didn't quite like with the way it was run was that..once you lost.. it was over. In Pokemon, if you lose, you play someone else until the tournament is over.
Also, in a Pokemon draft, you built a deck with the cards you got. In Magic, you take a card then pass the rest to the next person.
They still have the "you can only use these expansions" rule as Pokemon, which of course is only there to sell more cards. That at least doesn't change.
Some likes though are that you can use any card sleeve, instead of the Pokemon solid non-holo color or Pokemon backs. Then again this also prevents people from using their hentai honey sleeves against 6 year olds.

Other things that changed are new rules, like "kicking" things. Kicking was fun. I'll have to play more with the new cards though, as I only have some lands and that which came in the three packs I got.

Honestly I want a card game with sexy men in it. That was why I was so into YuGiOh, I could build a Black Magician deck :3 While that might have made my deck suck a little bit, at least I had something to look at.

I am on the look out for a First Person Dungeon Crawler forum that is about those kinds of game only. I have found various RPG forums or ones dedicated to a certain type of those games, but none that actually take in that broad of a spectrum.

That being said, I continue to enjoy the Let's Plays of various people doing Wizardry and other 1PDCs :D

Dungeons and Dragons: Online

If you don't know already, D&DO is now free to play. The way they manage this is by letting you buy "premiums" like level caps, races and jobs. I took a look at the game, being interested in it.

I have to say... I can see why people didn't play the game much. Character creation is a joke really. Sure you can pick hair style, hair color and all that... but you can't change the face too much save the nose. You forever are stuck with this middle aged grizzled looking human/elf character no matter the combination of nose and mouth.

I didn't like that. I like my men pretty, this didn't allow me to make a pretty man. So I'm not feeling connected to the character at all.

Some pluses though are the narration and the way you proceed. It makes it feel like your playing D&D, however without the deep customization that even Neverwinter Nights allowed... it's kinda pale. And different faces don't seem to be a pay option either. :P

Dungeon Craft!

To satisfy my urge to play 1st person dungeon crawlers I found this little SourceForge gem:
Dungeon Craft

It's a AD&D Forgotten Realms Unlimited Adventures update and clone and more.
While it's not exactly what I was looking for (I was looking for an Eye of the Beholder style clone) it is worthy of note for those looking for a construction set of that kind that want to do the old Gold Box adventures.

Who knows, this person might even update the engine to make even EotB games easy to make :D

The Dark Spire - NDS - 1st Person Dungeon - First Impression

This game play similar to Class of Heroes, only with less people. You still have people in the back that can't fight...however with class restrictions, they won't be able to get weapons to fight in the front at all. I might go and remake my party to compensate for this.

So far though I've been enjoying the game play, I really wish they have a middle ground on the Modern/Classic dungeon, as I love the classic enemies and the dudes, but I want more than lines for the walls. Something more like the newer remakes of the old Wizardry, or Eye of the Beholder. Something sprite art, but more than lines.

Also, I like classic mode as the music sounds better. :3

There are no voices in this game.. at least not yet. So no worries about dubbing..

Class of Heroes - PSP - 1st Person Dungeon - First Impression

I picked up Class of Heroes and Dark Spire wanting to satisfy my dungeon crawling spot.

My first impression is that the game seems a little haphazard. One of the beginning quests want you to go to the inner sanctum of a dungeon to meet the professor there. However there are one hit kill enemies in the newbie dungeon. Not even Etrian Odyssey was that hard. Also, the back row people can't attack, not even for half damage. This wouldn't be so bad if the ranged weapons were actually affordable, which they are not. So, I ended up spending a good chunk of my money on revives :P

The game does have voices, the good part is that they are not dubbed, which is unlike Atlus to not rip them out.

This blog is going to be a haven to any game reviews I want to make and any video diary entries for games I play. They might be likened to "Let's Plays" though less formal. It will also be a place where I post my "on the radars" for games I am looking forward too.
